New Information!!!!
The Georgia Academy for the Blind is pleased to announce the opening of the Smokey Powell Assistive Technology Center. The Center is housed on The Academy campus and will provide services to students who are blind or visually impaired, both at the Georgia Academy for the Blind and in the local school system (LSS). Services will be provided at no cost to the student. The LSS will be responsible for providing technology after it is deemed appropriate for a student.

Referral Packets can be accessed through the link at the top of this page. When your referral information is received, you will be contacted for scheduling. Low Vision Clinics are scheduled to begin in March, 2008.

Sonja Homan and Buffy Murrel will be at GAB for an Introduction to the
BrailleNote class. Teachers are encouraged to bring students who are new
users of this device. Registration is free; form is attached. Limited number
of seats are available. Hope to see you there!
