Mr. James Emory "Smokey" Powell

The Smokey Powell Center was established in 2006 by a trust fund from Mr. James Emory “Smokey” Powell to develop an assistive technology center for students in Georgia who are blind or visually impaired. Because of Mr. Powell’s generous endowment, the Smokey Powell Center can offer all services and equipment at no charge to local school districts or to the parents of students who are blind or visually impaired.
